Demon Slayer(Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie): Mugen Train(2021)

Updated: Jan 28, 2022

The movie, Demon Slayer(Kimetsu No Yaiba the Movie): Mugen Train, is being directed by Haruo Sotozaki. After the of the first season Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, the anime is making a comeback with this epic movie, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train! The movie features a tense fighting between the main protagonists, Tanjiro Kamado with his demon-slayer allies; Zenitsu and Inosuke, Tanjiro’s demon sister, Nezuko and an upper rank demon-slayer known as the Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku, and the main antagonist of the film, the lower-rank demon, Enmu. What wonders in our mind was, is this movie as good as the series? You’re about to find out!

The movie is about Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke are being directed by the Demon Slayer corps. to go investigate the disappearance of 40 people that aboard the train called, the Mugen Train. It is acknowledged that Tanjiro and his troops will be assisting the upper-rank demon-slayer, they call it the Hashira, named Kyojuro Rengoku, in this investigation. Rengoku is a Hashira whose expertise is in the Flame Breathing Technique in his sword fighting, hence, why he is being called the Flame Hashira. The movie started off with a touch of comedy; their first encounter with Rengoku, and Tanjiro immediately took the chance to ask Rengoku about the new Breathing Technique that he unconsciously learned during the end of season 1. Then, suddenly everyone in the train fell asleep, including them. It turns out that they got caught in the lower-rank demon’s, Enmu, trap. The twists start from here.

What I remember the most about this movie is that sometimes not everyone is born pure evil or selfish. They either do that because they are desperate or they are raised that way. Another thing that I do learn is that, no matter how bad people treated you, always know that sometimes, also doing bad things in return to them is not always the answer. You might never know that giving back kindness in return can bring a whole lot differences towards one’s life.

I think all different age audience should give a try and watch this movie, although, I do suggest that before you watch this movie, go watch the first season first, since there is no recap about the previous season in this movie, which is what I like it(no unnecessary minutes wasted to repeat the same scene from previous season). This movie straight away continues the scene from the previous season.

Although this movie has given me a roller coaster emotions, not to mention the soul-crushing and anxiety moment, I really enjoy this movie to the max! I did not lie when I every minutes after the movie ended, I am excited to see what will happen in the next season. Is the movie worth the hype? DEFINITELY!

I would definitely rate the movie 9.8/10 NESTED! What do you guys think? Did you enjoy watching Demon Slayer Kimetsu No Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train? Feel free share your thoughts to our community, ReviewNesters!
