This spooky story was directed by Jeong Beomsik and written by Jeong and Park Sangmin. Takes place in Asylum, this place is reportedly one of the three most haunted buildings in South Korea with its own secrets. This infamous asylum where Gonjiam Psychiatric Hospital is situated at was shut down in October 1979 after series cases of patients suicides including the recent tragedic story of group of high school students were missing inside the cursed Room 402. There were rumours circulating among the abandoned psychiatric hospitals, where a mass of property spread around there.
The film begins when a popular YouTube channel, “Horror Times'' , decided to plan a live investigation of the property. This investigation includes three ladies who are Charlotte (played by Moon Yewon), Ji Hyun (played by Park Jihyun) and Ahyeon (played by Oh Ahyeon), four men including Seungwook (played by Lee Seungwook), Sunghoon (played by Park Sunghoon) and Hajoon and Jeyoon (played by Yoo Jeyoon), along with an experienced videographer, a member of dance crew and also a nursing school trainee.
There were various episodes of unpredictable twist and paranormal phenomena - escalated throughout the film with exceptional uses of quality lenses that leave the casts feeling scared of their lives. What made the audience thrilled is that Gonjiam is in fact a real-life abandoned psychiatric hospital near Gwangju, South Korea and named as one of the “Seven Freakiest Places on Earth” according to CNN Travel. If any of you are a sucker for horror stories then this film is a must watch for you.
