A Quiet Place

A Quiet place is a horror/thriller Film directed and stars John Krasinski as Lee Abbott, Emily Blunt as Evelyn Abbott, Millicent Simmonds as Regan Abbott and Noah Jupe as Marcus Abbott. The main plot centered around Sightless aliens with super sharp hearing, these aliens killed most of the human population. With the Abbott family being one of the few survivors with mother Evelyn, Father Lee, daughter Regan (who is deaf), and sons Marcus and Beau, they must take extra precautions in avoiding noise, such as making sand paths through the forest to avoid stepping on crunching leaves and using American Sign Language when communicating.

A common theme here, is the dark anticipation one gets, while the movie is mostly silent, it is as if one’s other senses are heightened due to the silence. Among other things, this movie gives the feeling of fear of the unknown, as any slight noise make end your very life.

Those looking for a movie which puts a chill in your spine, and for a traditional paranormal horror film will enjoy this movie. It reminds me of the movie Aliens, as it has got a Sci-Fi undertone to it. I really enjoyed this movie, as in a way it is a modern silent film. Due to that, it helped in creating a very immersive setting, as I found myself trying to keep as silent as possible while watching the movie as to not attract the alien monsters.

I would give A Quiet Place a solid 8/10 Nested eggs, for its amazing immersion, spine-chilling moments and uniqueness in cinematography style.
